About Me
My Story
My name is Stephanie MacMullin, I have been happily married for just about six years; I actually met my husband during my first week of school. I’ve been practicing Massage Therapy for seven years now, graduating from Island Career Academy, after excelling in the program, in 2015. Massage Therapy wasn't my first career path, right out of High School, I enrolled into the Human Services Diploma program, and graduated two years later. Followed by, enrolling in the Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies Degree at CBU, graduating early, in 2009. I had the plan to be a Social Worker until many things in life made me change my path and choose Massage Therapy. To say it was the Absolute Best Decision I have ever made in my career life, would be a complete understatement! .
As part of my practice and philosophy, I feel it is my purpose as a Massage Therapist to both educate and rehabilitate my clients, empowering them to feel better, live better and strive to have happier, healthier, pain-free lives. I have Two Main Philosophies I have adopted since the beginning of my career which are: 1.) I Treat the way I would want to be treated! I enter every treatment with a positive attitude. I allow every client to gear how they want the treatment to go with total body autonomy. And, every single action I take is made with intention!
2.) You Do Not need to apologize for simply existing! Every Body is a Good Body! That includes your sex, gender, age, race, religion, weight, stretch marks/ rolls, hair, pimples/blackheads, scars... etc It is your body, it is beautiful and valid and you owe me Absolutely Nothing! Respect and Dignity is non-negotiable!
My approach is a combination of both Swedish Massage Techniques and Deep Tissue. I spent my first two years working for a multidisciplinary clinic along side a Chiro and a Physio. I treated mainly MVA, Worker's Comp, and Sports Injury. My time there really allowed me to perfect my ability to not only locate but to release trigger points all over the body; if they are in there, I will find them! I very quickly grew a reputation for my very strong hands which coincided with my trigger point ability! I spent the next four years working at a massage therapy clinic alongside many amazing therapists where I treated an array of different clients varying in conditions. I still performed a lot of therapeutic and deep treatments but it also gave me the opportunity to enhance my relaxation skills, not too long after I became very well known for my euphoric face and scalp massages! The conditions I excel with treating most are: Conditions of the head and Neck (including migraines/headaches, overuse injuries and whiplash), Overuse Injuries(in general), Shoulder injuries, lower back pain, Sciatica and Sprains/Strains.
I believe the things that have shaped me into being a well rounded, highly respected Massage Therapist are: my incredible kindness and understanding, my muscular strength, strong hands, vast intellectual knowledge as well as my deep intuition! These are the building blocks I have worked hard on enhancing over the years which I believe give me the ability to provide the best treatment needed for each and every client! If you are looking for a positive, powerful and caring Massage Therapist who provides a welcoming, safe environment for all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to find out how I can help you restore and revitalize your body, mind and spirit!
